American Society of Mechanical Engineers

ASME has standards for fasteners that are similar to both ANSI and ASTM. The standards similar to ASTM cover dimensional, chemical, and mechanical properties and are often preceded with an S. For example, ASME SA193 is similar to ASTM A193. The following ASME standards are dimensional standards and are often used to call out the type of the fastener in engineering prints similar to ANSI standards.

DIN stands for “DeutschesInstitutfürNormung“, meaning “German institute for standardization”. National standards (DIN) will be/have been largely replaced by international/European standards.
